When is the DSi released?
The Nintendo DSi is released on the 3rd of April 2009 in the UK.

Can I play old DS games on my DSi?
Yes! The DSi is fully compatible with all previous DS games bar games that require peripherals which use the GBA slot (e.g. Guitar Hero).
Can I play very old GBA games on my DSi?
Unfortunately not, the Gameboy Advance slot has been removed in the DSi. Your best hope is to get a DS Lite if GBA games are a must for you, or pray that your favourite old game(s) will be released on the DSIWare service.
What colours will the DSi be available in?
From launch the DSi will only be available in matte black or matte white. Meanwhile those lucky Japanese people will be getting pink, lime green and metallic blue versions but there is no word at present as to when these will make it across (if ever) to these shores.
Is the DSi more powerful than the previous models in terms of tech specs?
Apart from increased memory (16MB instead of 4MB) and the addition of the cameras / larger dual screens, everything is pretty much as it was.
Can I upgrade my DS to the DSi firmware?
No – the DSi is the first Nintendo handheld to have a flashable firmware, previous models don’t support this.
